On 16 May 2020 the old favorite “Warmbad to Nylstroom” Road Run will be reborn. This time from Bela-Bela to Modimolle.

This 26km route will follow the scenic yet challenging R101 from the entrance gate of Klein Kariba, through the outskirts of Modimolle,

to finish at Weesgerus Holiday Resort. 

Added to the event will be a 20km and 10km trailrun option, passing through the picturesque surrounds and private farms

around Modimolle town. 

A  5km FUN Run will be hosted within the safe boundaries of Weesgerus holiday resort, where the vibrant finish venue, chill zone and entertainment will be. 

A fun day for the whole family, a true celebration of running!

Runners still on the course at the Cut-Off times will be picked up by the sweep vehicle and brought to the race village.

Should runners elect to continue after the Cut-Off time, they will do so completely at their own risk - NOT NEGOTIABLE

Race support and Organizer / Sponsor responsibility will be withdrawn after the Cut-Off times

RULES & GENERAL INFORMATION

ALL  ATHLETES

  • The time limits for all events will apply as stipulated under race information.

  •  All entrants must be amateurs as defined under ASA rules and according to the age restrictions as stipulated under Race Information. 

  • Marshals and traffic officials must be obeyed at all times.  Failure to comply with their instructions will lead to immediate disqualification.

  • No seconding or vehicles on routes will be allowed.

  • Sufficient refreshment stations will be provided on routes. 

  • All entrants will participate under the rules of WA, ASA and LIMA and it is the athlete’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with the rules

  • It is the responsibility of each athlete to ensure that he or she is medically fit and healthy to participate in any of the events.

  • The race committee reserves the right to accept or reject any entry. The judge’s decision is final. 

  • Proof of age for prize winners is required & must be presented to referees before prize giving.  Prizes will be withheld until confirmed.

  • Athletes must wear official numeric age category ID tags on the front & back of the running vest and clearly visible

  • Regret no mechanically operated device or blade, cyclist, pram or wheelchair is permitted to participate in the races.

  • No animals are allowed in the races.

  • No iPods or listening devices allowed.

  • Temporary licensed athletes are eligible for open and category prizes, provided they have the age category tag clearly visible back and front of the running vest. 

  • Appeals must be lodged in writing within 30 minutes [before or after] prize giving to the chief referee, accompanied by R500.00 which is refundable if the appeal is upheld. 

 

LICENSED ATHLETES 

  • All entrants for the 26km event and 20km Trail and 10km Trail must be in possession of a valid 2020 license number which must be worn on the front & back of the running vest.  The race number issued by the organizers must be worn on the front of the running vest without obscuring the sponsors detail on licence number. 

  • Foreign athletes must comply with IAAF Rule 4, par 2 regarding handing over their permits to the organiser.

  • Junior athletes with junior permanent licences must still comply with the ASA rule 22.9.4 by wearing the "J" age category tag front and back (clearly visible)

UNLICENSED ATHLETES

  • Unlicensed athletes of the 26km event and 20km Trail and 10km Trail  must purchase a temporary licence number.  The temporary license for 2020 is R40. This number must be worn on the back of the running vest and the race number issued by the organizers must be worn on the front of the running vest. 

 

AGE CATEGORIES (age on day of race)

 • Juniors: 19yrs and younger on 31 Des in the year of the competition (ASA rule 22.1)

 • Open

 • Age Group: between 40 and 49 yrs

 • Age Group: between 50 and 59 yrs

 • Age Group: between 60 and 69 yrs

 • Age Group: 70 yrs and 79 yrs 

• Age Group: 80 yrs and older

 

RFID TAG TIMING 

  • An RFID timing tag will be integrated in the 26km. 20km and 10km race numbers which must not be removed or damaged.  The timing tag race number must be visible when crossing the mats at the finish line. The information as per entry form and race number will be linked to the timing tag.

  • NO TAG NO RESULTS

 

PRIZE GIVING & SPOT PRIZES / LUCKY DRAW

  •  This will take place at the venue as stipulated under Race Information.

 

RESULTS 

  • Only athletes wearing the official timing tag race number at the finish line will receive results. NO TAG NO RESULTS

  • Preliminary results will be instantly available after you cross the finish line, per SMS or on the website mmm.bouttime.co.za 

  • Official results available after three days at www.bouttime.co.za 

 

PHOTOGRAPHS 

  • Photographs will be taken by LWG Photo and can be viewed after the event at www.lwgphoto.co.za

 

TOG BAGS (At owner’s risk)

  • Tog bag facilities available at the venue.

  • Tog bag transfer from Klein Kariba to Weesgerus will be provided

 

 GENERAL 

  • Routes. The 26km route will be point to point. The 20km, 10km and 5km routes are single lap routes.  Distance markers displayed on route 

  • Refreshment stations approximately 3km apart will provide cold Coke and water sachets. Do your bit to ensure that the race is litter free.  Dispose your cups & water sachets at the recycling stations at the bins at the refreshment stations. 

  • Medical support provided along routes and at the venue

  • Fast foods and refreshments on sale at the venue. 

  • Only official and accredited vehicles will be allowed to park at the Finish & the club sites.  Clubs are kindly requested to set-up club gazebos on the Friday prior to race day.  Security will be deployed at the venue.

  • The entry fee is non-refundable.

Numerous spot prizes at prize giving. 

 

Goodie Bags 

First 300 (all distances combined) online entries will receive a goodie bag.

To be collected on registration days 15 May and 16 May 2020 at the venue.

 
 
Hydration

Each route will have water stations at approximately every 3km's. Some of the stations will be stocked with food items for nutritional replenishment

Athletes Shuttle

For the 26km Road Run, a shuttle service from Weesgerus to Klein Kariba can be booked with your entry.

Pre-Race - If you've parked your car at Weesgerus and need to get to the start line

Post Race - If you've parked your car at Klein Kariba and you need to fetch it.

Kiddies play area

A kiddies play area will be available at the Race Village at Weesgerus

Medical

Emergency medical services will be deployed on Race Day. All athletes must ensure that they are medically fit before starting the race

Tog Bag Transport

For the 26km Road Run, a Tog Bag Transport service will be available at the start line. Tog Bags will be taken to the finish line for your collection. Please indicate weather you will make use of this service when you enter. 

Food and Beverage

Food and beverage stalls will be available at the Race Village at Weesgerus
